My Grandpa, My Hero
Dear Grandpa,
I hope you can read this from where you are. Today was the day I have been dreading for a long time. However, I knew this day would come. Today is the day that you passed away.
I wanted to tell you that you really were the best grandpa in the world. You taught me so much from how to tie my shoes to how to drive a car.
I really am the luckiest grandchild in the world because I was able to grow up the same house as you and grandma and you were there for me every step of the way. You were there for me when I was caught shoplifting red-handed and you still didn't think it was my fault because I was YOUR grandchild and that pretty much excused any wrong that I did. You always, ALWAYS made me feel safe and you were my safety net. I am not sure how to live a day without you. I don't know how it will be walk this tight rope called life without you there underneath me to catch me when I fall.
After having my "real" dad leave me and my mom when I was a baby, you were it for me in the dad category and you handled it with perfection.
I know I will miss you more with each passing day. The realization that you really aren't here will hit me from time to time and I won't know what to do with myself, I'm sure.
I hope I have and will make you proud of me and my family.
I want to thank you for being there for me, to understand me, to hear me, to help me, to be the rock that you knew I would need.
I promise to take care of your great-grandbabies and be there for them the way you were there for me. I hope when you check in on us from time to time you see that we are doing great and being who know we can be.
I am frightened to walk this world without you in it. I am frighten I won't know what to do when I need you and you aren't there to give me the answers that I need.
Please come back to me in my dreams from time to time and let me know how you are doing.

That was beautiful! So sorry about your loss, (((( hugs ))). I wish I had words of comfort, words of wisdom, words to make it better, but I don't. I have prayers for you and your family, I have sympathy I can only send through this post, and I have myself to read what ever you need to post to hopefully help you get through this.
I hope your loss gets less painful each day. I know your Grandpa will visit your dreams and still be proud of you! {{{HUGS}}} to you and yours on this sad day...
