I thought since I was in the spirit of bragging about awesome people I know, I thought I would tell you the story of my oldest internet buddy, Dustin.
I first "met" Dustin WAAAAAY back when I got my very first computer thingy- a web TV, remember those? If you don't that probably means you didn't have one and there really is no sense in explaining what a web TV is (but you can click here if you really really want to know.)
I had an idea what the "internet" was, but wasn't really sure. So, when I actually got "online" and saw the Search Box, I new this "place" was suppose to be able to take me anywhere my heart desired. I had no clue what to actually type so I typed the first thing that came to my mind, "Days of Our Lives." I had watched that soap since I was in 7th grade - (I don't anymore) and remember my grandma watching it when I was super young. 'Dustin's Day's Page' was the first one to pop up and thus began my relationship with Dustin and the internet. Now, I have never met Dustin, chatted with him or talked to him on the phone, but I feel like he is one of my best friends through his blogs.
The first time I "met" Dustin was back in 1998. I remember that because that is the year I started college. Dustin was in college as well and still is though he is in the home stretch, finally!
I have done a lot of things in the past ten years, got married, divorced, married again, had two kids, moved out of my mom's house, had about a zillion jobs, met and lost touch with online friends and real life friends. However, the only constants in my life over the last ten years are Dustin and my Kitty. Those are the only two keepsakes that I still have from ten years ago- that and a love of 'Friends', the TV show. So, while I plan on meeting Dustin along with some other awesome folks in early 2009 - Vegas meet Janelle's Tax Return, I know that even I never really met him- I am sure ten years from now, I will still be reading Dustin's blog and consider him a great friend.

My oldest online friend would be Nicole....I met her when she stumbled onto my blog almost two years ago. We've never met. Never talked on the phone. We e-mail and myspace. She's been going through a lot the last 8 months or so though so we haven't really had a chance to talk. I still love her to bits n pieces though.
I've got my change jar set up, already starting the mini-savings for Vegas 2009!
Oh! And hey, Slacker? Yeah, I'm talking to you! You think just because you went and had surgery that you can make us wait for that story? Huh? Huh? Well do you?

Aww, this is a really sweet post! as far as my oldest friend...I've been reading Dustin for a few years now, but never really contacted him, although now we have that whole SingStar thing going on:) I started reading Aravis from his blog, and have been exchanging emails with her for almost a year. Isn't it great how the internet can bring us all together?
I too have been reading dustin for 10+ years. The video you post is great as for the first time we see and hear him speak. My vote for bestest and oldest is dustin!
