To My Paul on our 5th Anniversary,

5 years. Wow! You should feel proud; I've never been married to anyone for 5 years before. You are my first. Cool, huh?

Where were we 5 years ago? I was big and fat pregnant with Emily and now I'm just big and fat, but you never call me that and always say, "You're not fat" when clearly I am. Thank you for that. Many wives who weigh 125lbs are told daily that they are fat by their husbands. Thank you for not being one of those husbands.

5 years ago we were living in a small house I was sure we'd never be able to afford to move out of. Today. Well, today I will walk into an amazing house that I never thought I'd be able to call my own. Thank you for keeping me laughing even though I want to cry most months when I pay the bills to pay for this so-called dream house. You never blamed me for us buying this house and I know if not for me and my whining, we'd never would have moved in the first place. Thank you for never blaming me for the mess that I put us in.

5 years ago I was sure we wouldn’t make it. I was sure we would somehow screw this up because I was destined to be a single mom. I wouldn't let myself love you the way I knew I was suppose to because I just knew that in a few years we would go our separate ways. But today, you stand next to me proving me wrong. You were stronger than my feelings to run and for that I truly, truly thank you.

5 years ago I was cursing the ground you walked on because YOU FORGOT THE FLOWERS for our wedding! But you drove back home at 100 miles an hour to get the flowers to make me happy- or shut me up? Either way, thank you for risking your life for some flowers that have long been lost even though I swore I'd keep them FOREVER.

5 years ago I wasn't sure where we would be 5 years from then. But today, I hope and pray that we can keep this good thing going and make it another 5 years.

Thank you for being my bestest friend. The person that can make me laugh no matter what and the person that totally "gets me." Bruce Willis says in 'The Story of Us', the best feeling in the world is to be "got" and you give me that feeling and that is way better than winning a million dollars *wink wink* I love you, I really do love you.

But if you could learn to read my mind and just understand that I am always right, the next 5 years will probably go by a lot smoother. I'm just saying....
